Редкий день обходится без блюда, в котором есть картошка. Супы, пюре, гарнир, салаты – картофель, точнее очищенный от кожуры картофель нужен везде.

Картошку обычно чистят ножом или овощечистками. Молодой картофель чистят солью, металлической мочалкой, специальными перчатками с пупырышками. Бабушки в деревне скидывают свежевыкопанную картошку в ведро с водой и энергично размешивают палкой.

Есть еще промышленные картофелечистки, которые за час справляются со 165 кг клубней, стоимостью от 1000 долларов. Можно найти небольшую электрическую картофелечистку и за 150-200 долларов, правда, особой популярностью они не пользуются.

Щеточку удобно держать в руках и чистить молодой картофель. Носик предназначен для очистки клубней от глазков. Им же цепляют щетку на гвоздик или крючок. Правда, картофель с толстой кожурой такой щеткой добела не почистите.
